The American Bobtail can be shorthaired or longhaired. It has a rather short tail and has a "hunting gaze" due to its fierce ancestors. It is very intelligent and playful and might make little chirping sounds when played with. In fact, these cats can be so affectionate, that some even refer to them as the "golden retrievers" of the feline world.
